About Kendell

Kendell Thessman is a qualified Financial Counsellor and experienced business operator with more than 20 years’ experience working across regional Australia - including North Queensland, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia.

She has owned, managed, and advised businesses across tourism, wellness, hospitality, agriculture and attractions, giving her a clear understanding of the operational, financial, and workforce challenges faced by regional enterprises. Kendell has led teams of up to 250 staff across multiple facilities and regions, with expertise in HR, marketing, digital design, e-commerce, and strategic operations.

Following the Cyclone Jasper and North Queensland Floods, Kendell served as the Economic Recovery Officer in Economic Development for the Cassowary Coast Regional Council, supporting local businesses to rebuild, access funding, and strengthen resilience. This role deepened her understanding of the complex issues affecting regional economies and the support required for long-term recovery and growth.

As a Financial Counsellor, Kendell helps business owners improve financial performance, manage debt, and plan for sustainable operations. She is skilled in project management, community consultation, and grant and funding support, and has strong networks across all levels of government, business, and community.

Currently studying her Diploma of Accounting, Kendell is committed to continuous professional development and staying current with industry and regional trends to better support the businesses she works with. She also delivers training in business resilience and small business financial literacy, helping operators strengthen their financial capability and confidence.

Kendell builds strong rapport and long-term relationships with her clients - empowering them to develop the knowledge, confidence, and resilience needed to achieve sustainable business success.
